Authentication User Agency (AUA)

An AUA is any government / public / private legal entity registered in India that seeks to use Aadhaar authentication for its services. Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is the overall regulator and overseer of the Aadhaar authentication system which owns and manages the Central Identities Data Repository (CIDR) containing the personal identity data (PID) of all Aadhaar-holders.

Authentication Service Agency (ASA) are entities that have secure leased line connectivity with the CIDR and transmit authentication requests to CIDR on behalf of one or more AUAs. An AUA can request Aadhaar holders to provide their Aadhaar numbers, for seeding in the database, before service delivery. An AUA can further verify the correctness of the Aadhaar numbers, so provided, through demographic and/or biometric authentication of the Aadhaar holders.

Being an Authentication User Agency (AUA) of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), Alankit can now provide Aadhaar Enabled Services to its beneficiaries, clients and customers and can further verify the correctness of the Aadhaar numbers provided.

The authentication service can be used by the AUA or the Sub AUA for the following purposes:
  • 1Establishing Identity during Know Your Citizen (KYC) or during service delivery

  • 2Elimination of fake and duplicate identities in existing application and database

  • 3Improving efficiency & transparency of service delivery
